EXERCISE SIMULATION MODULE

Conducting training exercises and drills is vital to preparing for a response to an actual crisis. DisasterLAN's Exercise Simulation Module was designed to allow for the creation of data injection scripts for use in conducting real-world training exercises. Call Center and Status Board entries can be pre-configured for injection into DisasterLAN at set time intervals during a training scenario. Users can interact with injected data to test their response to incident events. By pre-configuring scripts, complex exercise scenarios can be run without the need for any real-time data entry by exercise controllers. VCR-like controls allow for the pausing or fast forwarding of an exercise, thereby controlling data injection.

Exercise Simulation Module - Fast Facts:

  • Conduct training exercises using pre-built data injection scripts.
  • Inject Call Center and Status Board entries into DisasterLAN at predetermined times during the exercise.
  • Client-server architecture allows for multiple users to work on script creation concurrently.
  • Exercise data is maintained in a separate "training" database to protect the integrity of the live DisasterLAN production database.
  • Save exercise scripts to create a library of training scenarios.
  • Users can interact with injected exercise data in real-time.
  • Modify the exercise script during run time.
  • Execution of the exercise script can be paused or fast forwarded as needed.
  • Exercises can span multiple concurrent incidents to simulate real-world conditions.
