JOINT INFORMATION CENTER MODULE

Designed to rapidly disseminate emergency and non-emergency information to the general public, DisasterLAN's Joint Information Center (JIC) Module provides emergency managers with a rich toolset for creating and publishing EAS Messages, Alerts, and Routine Press Releases. Content can be generate by emergency management personnel using pre-formatted templates and targeted to select jurisdictions. Because the JIC Module is built upon DisasterLAN's robust security engine, it is possible to grant local emergency managers privileges to author EAS Messages and Alerts destin for their jurisdiction while simultaneously preventing them from publishing alerts to areas not under their authority. Similarly, select users can be granted privileges to author and publish content for all jurisdictions within a town, county, or state. Because the JIC can automate the dissemination of CAP-compliant emergency messages, information such as watches and warnings from the National Weather Service can instantly be posted to the portal or emailed out via the integrated SMTP email service. All alerts and press releases posted to the JIC portal is also available via RSS feeds.
