SITUATION REPORT MODULE Collecting, summarizing and disseminating situational information is critical during a crisis. Traditionally, the process of gathering, compiling and sharing this information has been a time consuming task. DisasterLAN's Situation Report Module was designed to expedite the process of publishing and sharing situational information via a situation report. Using web-based templates, individual agencies can easily submit their situational information to the planning department for inclusion in a master situation report. Members of the Planning Section can then use DisasterLAN's web-based tools to automatically gather and compile the information submitted by the various support agencies. Reports submitted by individual agencies can be reviewed, edited, flagged for inclusion, or excluded from inclusion in a given situation report. Once completed, published situation reports instantly become available on DisasterLAN for use by any authorized user. Situation reports are published in both Adobe Acrobat and HTML formats to aid with widespread distribution via email, fax, or BlackBerry. All situation reports are permanently archived on DisasterLAN for post event review. |
