Buffalo Computer Graphics' maritime simulation staff has extensive experience in the design and development of marine radar and communication simulators. Many of our staff members have been dedicated to the development of our simulation products for over twenty-five years. Our line of radar simulators is IMO / STCW compliant and can be adapted to meet HLA or DIS requirements. All models are capable of generating the target, landmass and radar effects video required to create realistic radar images from computer generated data. As a result, training exercises carried out using a BCG simulator appear real to observers monitoring the radar displays. Buffalo Computer Graphics has added Automatic Identification System (AIS) simulation capability to its radar simulator product line. Working in conjunction with the US Coast Guard, BCG has developed an AIS message generator which is integrated into our simulation products. Currently the AIS Simulation supports Message Types 1,3,5 with both a serial output (RS232 or RS422) or a network UDP packet output. BCG’s implementation of the AIS data packet generation is done in compliance with the IEC 61993-2, IEC 61162-1 and NMEA-0183 standards. BCG continues to expand our AIS functionality with future planned support for up to 1000 AIS tracks and expanded message types. |
